Andrew Brown

Managing Executive
Andrew was appointed as Managing Executive to take over from Peter Kennedy after his retirement in February 2016. Andrew has more than 25 years experience in Information Technology and Enterprise Business Systems, primarily working in the utilities, manufacturing and healthcare industries, in both South Africa and the Middle East. Prior to joining MediSwitch, Andrew was the Managing Director of MEDITECH South Africa where he worked for seven years. Andrew has a B.Com Information Systems degree from UCT and a MBA from the Wits Business School.

Malan Smit

Regional Manager: Cape
Malan has 24 years healthcare experience - 10 years in Medical Scheme Administration, and 12 years within MediSwitch. He started at MediSwitch as Project Manager in the Western Cape and shortly after MediSwitch Holdings was formed in April 1999, was appointed Regional Manager and has held the position ever since. Malan and his team are responsible for building and maintaining client relationships and doing business development for key-, corporate and all Cape based destinations.

Marina van der Merwe

Regional Manager: Central Region
Marina started her career with QEDI in 1999 as Business Development Consultant. After the merger between QEDI and MediSwitch she was appointed as manager of the Healthcare Informatics division to conceptualise and develop new products and training programs. Currently as Regional Manager for the Central Region she is responsible for building and maintaining corporate client relationships and doing business development for key-, corporate and all destinations based in the Central Region. This includes interaction with PMA-, HIS- and Pharmacy vendors. Additionally, Marina looks after Customer Liaison as well as national sales and growth (including VAR management).

Sandy Miller

Regional Manager: KZN
Sandy has been involved in the healthcare IT industry since 1987. During this time, she has held various positions in both the PMA and Switching businesses. In 1999 Sandy was appointed Regional Manager of PQ Health and after the merger between QEDI and MediSwitch became the KZN Regional Manager for MediSwitch. Sandy is currently responsible for product development as well as for building and maintaining client relationships and doing business development for key-, corporate and all KZN based destinations.

Wayne Botha

IT Manager
Wayne started at MediSwitch as an Analyst Programmer responsible for the API and EBOX applications in 2002 before co-maintaining the switches and gateways. In March 2003 he was appointed as Team Leader: Analyst Programmer and headed up the Design and Development team of the Switch Electronic Messaging System (SEMS). In December 2006 he was appointed as IT Development Manager and in August 2007, as IT Manager when he also took control of the IT Operations- and Infrastructure environments.

Doloress Nkosi

Customer Services Manager
Having come from the pharmaceutical industry, Doloress started her career with MediSwitch in 2004 as a Client Liaison Officer. Being passionate about client service, she has been responsible for the following roles within the company -  Sales Supervisor, Client Liaison Supervisor and Call Centre Manager. She was recently promoted to Services Manager where she will be responsible for MediSwitch’s national Call Centre as well as the Gauteng Client Liaison Team. Doloress successfully completed a degree in Business Administration.

Esme Eloff

Marketing Manager
Esme has 19 years marketing experience in the healthcare industry - starting her career at MLS Bank in 1994. In 2003, she was part of the team that established Imperial Bank Medical Finance - focussing on providing asset finance to healthcare professionals. She joined MediSwitch in 2008 and besides being responsible for the re-branding of the company to MediSwitch, is responsible for promotion of the brand image, its products and services, communication, event management and customer training.

Quinton Dippenaar

Business Development Manager
Quinton has been in the healthcare industry since 2003 when he joined MediSwitch as a Call Centre Agent. His career progressed to Sales and Technical Support, Junior Account Management, Vendor and Dealer Account Management and Customer Services Manager where he was responsible for the MediSwitch call centre, internal administration, direct sales to practices, corporates and non-pharmacy as well as channel and Vendor management. Quinton is currently responsible for new business development which includes sales strategy, channel and Vendor management.

Christine Burger

Administration Manager
Christine started in 2015 at MediSwitch as Key Account Manager and was promoted to Administration Manager a few months later. She has more than 16 years’ experience in the health care industry, in South Africa as well as neighbouring African countries. Prior to joining MediSwitch, Christine was the General Manager of Optimax, practice management software for Optometrists. Christine obtained Optometry and Psychology (Honours) degrees from RAU and a MBA from Stellenbosch Business School.
