Peter Kennedy

Managing Director
Peter’s career started in the banking and manufacturing industries before he joined a life assurance company in 1986 as an analyst programmer. Peter’s career progressed in the next 10 years and his final position was General Manager Information Technology. During this time Peter joined the Computer Society and completed his UNISA Diploma in Datametrics. In 1996 Peter joined SA Druggists as IT Director of their pharmaceutical distribution division. Later that year, Peter was transferred to MediSwitch as the Commercial Director. In 1999, Peter was promoted to Managing Director of MediSwitch (Pty) Ltd. In May 2001 MediSwítch and QEDI merged to form Swítch and Peter was appointed the managing director.

Wayne Botha

IT Manager
Wayne started at Swítch as an Analyst Programmer responsible for the API and EBOX applications in 2002 before co-maintaining the switches and gateways. In March 2003 he was appointed as Team Leader: Analyst Programmer and headed up the Design and Development team of the Swítch Electronic Messaging System (SEMS). In December 2006 he was appointed as IT Development Manager and in August 2007, as IT Manager when he also took control of the IT Operations- and Infrastructure environments.

Graham Hannigan

Customer Services Manager
Graham started his career at Swítch as Call Centre Manager in 2007. Today, his role includes responsibility for all aspects of customer service and interaction. This includes a state of the art Call Centre (In- and Outbound) , Customer Liaison, Training, Sales & Growth from non corporates, Dealer Management and various other areas - all of which contributes to ensuring Swítch’s customer service claims first place.

Marina van der Merwe

Regional Manager: Central Region
Marina started her career with QEDI in 1999 as Business Development Consultant. After the merger between QEDI and Mediswitch she was appointed as manager of the Healthcare Informatics division to conceptualise and develop new products and training programs. Currently as Regional Manager for the Central Region she is responsible for building and maintaining corporate client relationships and doing business development for key-, corporate and all destinations based in the Central Region. This includes interaction with PMA-, HIS- and Pharmacy vendors.

Sandy Miller

Regional Manager: KZN
Sandy has been involved in the healthcare IT industry since 1987. During this time, she has held various positions in both the PMA and Switching businesses. In 1999 Sandy was appointed Regional Manager of PQ Health and after the merger between QEDI and MediSwitch became the KZN Regional Manager for Swítch. Sandy is currently responsible for product development as well as for building and maintaining client relationships and doing business development for key-, corporate and all KZN based destinations.

Malan Smit

Regional Manager: Cape
Malan has 22 years healthcare experience - 10 years in Medical Scheme Administration, and 12 years within Swítch. He started at Mediswitch as Project Manager in the Western Cape and shortly after Mediswitch Holdings was formed in April 1999, was appointed Regional Manager and has held the position ever since. Malan and his team are responsible for building and maintaining client relationships and doing business development for key-, corporate and all Cape based destinations.

Esme Eloff

Marketing Manager
Esme has 17 years marketing experience in the healthcare industry - starting her career at MLS Bank in 1994. In 2003, she was part of the team that established Imperial Bank Medical Finance - focussing on providing asset finance to healthcare professionals. She joined Swítch in 2008 and besides being responsible for the re-branding of the company to MediSwitch, is responsible for promotion of the brand image, its products & services, communication, event management and customer training.
